FAQ’s for the Zilla Digital Power Center

1. Why can?M?? I program the nightlights and daylights separately?

a. The Digital Power Centers are an alternative timer not an independent timer. When the daylights are on, the nightlights are off and vice versa.

2. Why does the daylights go out when I program the timer?

a. The Digital Power Centers do not know the mode they should be in at any given time. They only know when they should change modes. When in PROGRAM mode, you must wait until the next programmed event time for them to enter into the right mode.

3. Why do the lights come on or turn off at random times?

a. This is usually the result of a conflicting program. Up to 7 programs are allowed to be input into the system. 1 for each day of the week. If 2 programs share the same day, (i.e., Program 2 is set for an on and off cycle on Tuesdays and Program 3 is set for a different on and off cycle for Weekdays) the timer will turn on and off at both program?M?? event times. To clear a conflicting program, enter program mode and press program until the conflicting program is found. Press and hold the ?M??ode?M?button and then press program to delete the conflicting program. Be sure to cancel both the off and on cycles for the conflicting program.

4. Why does the display shut off?

a. When plugged into a power source the timer is powered by the main electrical supply. In the event of a power outage, the battery maintains the timer program until power is restored. If the battery has drained, the programs may be lost if there is a loss of power to the power strip. The unit can be run without a battery but will not retain any program if the power is cut off.

5. Why does it lose programming when I unplug devices?

a. Sometimes the rapid loss of power draw caused by unplugging devices can cause a power surge in the timer control which will blank out the programs. To avoid this, turn off the power strip with the switch before unplugging any devices. This should prevent any power surges from erasing the program.
