Easily grown from seed Aloe makes an ideal house plant Aloe vera has been widely grown as an ornamental plant. The species is popular with modern gardeners as a punitively medicinal plant and for its interesting flowers, form, and succulence. This succulence enables the species to survive in areas of low natural rainfall, making it ideal for rockeries and other low water-use gardens. The species is hardy in zones 8??1. Aloe species assortment including:: Aloe buhrii, castanea, gariepensis, greenii, perryi, saponaria, striata, wickensii and others. CULTURE: Sow seeds indoors in trays or pots filled with appropriate cactus soil. Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Most cacti are happy growing in dense clumps when young and are easily separated for transplant. Press seeds in to soil surface and barely cover. Place in humidity dome or plastic bag in indirect sun until germination which may take up to 2 weeks. If seedlings turn red/brown reduce light exposure or cover with shade cloth.
